Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 21, 2026
Speed States ("the App") is a geography quiz game developed by an independent developer. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your choices.
Information We Collect
The App collects minimal information necessary to provide the game experience:
- Leaderboard Data: If you choose to submit a score to the leaderboard, the App stores the display name you enter, your score, the game mode, and a timestamp. This information is stored using Google Firebase Firestore.
- Purchase Information: If you make an in-app purchase, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information.
- Trial Tracking: The App stores a first-launch date locally on your device (using UserDefaults) to manage the free trial period. This data never leaves your device.
Information We Do Not Collect
- Email addresses or contact information
- Location data
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Analytics or usage tracking data
- Photos, contacts, or other personal data
How We Use Your Information
Leaderboard data is used solely to display high scores within the App. We do not sell, share, or use this data for any other purpose.
Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
- Google Firebase Firestore: Used to store and retrieve leaderboard entries. Firebase's privacy policy can be found at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
- Apple StoreKit: Used to process in-app purchases. Apple's privacy policy can be found at apple.com/privacy.
Data Retention
Leaderboard entries are retained indefinitely to maintain the high score list. If you would like your leaderboard entry removed, please contact us using the information below.
Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The only user-provided data is an optional display name for the leaderboard, which does not require any personal information. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, please contact us and we will promptly remove it.
Data Security
Leaderboard data is stored using Google Firebase, which provides industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
Your Choices
- You can play the game without submitting a leaderboard entry.
- You can use any display name you choose for the leaderboard — it does not need to be your real name.
- You can request removal of your leaderboard data by contacting us.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
